I had a dream with Jan Senberg in it. For those who have no knowledge on who this is, Senberg is a contemporary Australian artist. True he was one of the better artists exhibited, but (in my opinion) not up to gallery standards.
I see more creative, thought out pieces of artwork from students at my school. Perhaps this is because their intentions for creating art hasn't been corrupted with the thirst for attention, money and popularity.
I'm sick of seeing the same oh so 'original' artwork that is a plain canvas, or perhaps with a splash of colour. And I'm sick of being asked what I think the artists intention was when they created it. The artists creating these artwork are trying to shock the audience by being bold, original and deep. They are most certainly none of these things. Not when you can't distinguish one artists style to the next.
On a happier note, my art teacher gave me the comic he bought the other day. It's called Lenore and its wonderful :)
I Love Tyler.
